When choosing which Embroidery Thread to use the brand will depend on your machine.
There are very high quality versatile embroidery threads like ackermann isalon and isacord threads which will give a really high quality finish regardless of machine brand
What to look for is strong glossy threads that will withstand high speed machine embroidery and also provide a nice glossy finish. i could tell you my personal favorites which are ackerman and vicose rayon but i only have experience with brother and jonome machines, these types of threads will hardly break, you wont get any fraying and they will withstand domestic washing. |

Choosing the right Embroidery Machine for you is an important task. There are so many embroidery machines to choose from it is important to consider the two following factors:
What type of fabrics will you be working with?
How Often will you use the embroidery machine?
Why is this important? Because there are two types of embroidery machines Domestic and Commercial. Buying the cheapest may cost you more in the long run as cheaper machine like the pe150 and similar models have motors with a short life span and if your motor goes and you didn't spot the problem then you are likely to take out your screen with it, it would be cheaper to buy a new machine than to repair. So all things must be considered, don't just go for the best deal go for the best machine for you. Look carefully at each ones features and see which ones you will need, brands vary, my personal domestic embroidery machine is janome for its hardwearing parts which are also cheap and easy to come by, not only that the hoop sizes are more apt for designs i have done and the positioning on the hoop means you can be more versatile with the products you embroider. However for domestic allot of people like the brother pr600 so again it is what is best for you, read all the specifications on each machine |
| Stabilizaer |
There are four main types of stabilizer:
-
cut-away
-
tear-away
-
heat-away
-
wash-away
The stabilizer you choose will depend on your fabric and the embroidery design for example:

Cut-away stabilizers are best for fabrics like Knitted fabrics and those loosely woven
Tear-away stabilizers provide Temporary support so this is ok for Firmly woven, natural-fiber fabrics
Heat-away stabilizers again a Temporary support so ok for fabrics that are Non washable, delicate fabrics and for off-the-edge stitching techniques
Wash-away stabilizers are used for Delicate, mesh-like, fabric like towel and are Temporary support embroidery stabilizer |
